Sally Aman

Chief Communications Officer
Sally Aman served as a White House communications director in the Office of Vice President Al Gore and is the founder of Aman & Associates, a Washington-based public affairs consulting firm. She is a veteran communications advisor with extensive experience crafting strategies rooted in research-based messaging; creating persuasive public policy and issue management initiatives; developing and implementing crisis communications campaigns; and directing advertising, branding, and media campaigns. She focuses on integrating emerging technologies into powerful communications campaigns that sway opinions and incentivize action.

Jeff Sheridan

Vice President of Public Affairs
Jeff Sheridan has developed a diverse portfolio that includes advising political campaigns, issue advocacy groups, private companies, chambers of commerce and trade associations, nonprofit organizations, and local government in the areas of strategic communications, television, and digital media. Jeff has also consulted with private sector companies in the logistics and land development sectors helping them navigate government and regulatory processes.

Prior to joining GPS, Jeff managed Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf’s successful re-election campaign. Jeff also served as Governor Wolf’s press secretary in his government office and on his 2014 gubernatorial campaign. Jeff came to Pennsylvania from New York where he worked for former Congresswoman Kathy Hochul, and before that, Congresswoman Louise Slaughter.

Jim Gardner

Senior Strategist
​​Jim Gardner, public relations strategist for GPS Influence, focuses on message development aimed at maximizing earned media opportunities and increasing social media engagement. Since joining GPS Influence in 2020, Gardner has worked extensively on thought leadership and advocacy designed to increase awareness and promote solutions for income inequality and racial wealth gap issues. During that time, he has successfully placed stories on Axios on HBO, CBS MoneyWatch, Real Time With Bill Maher, Yahoo Finance television, Bloomberg News, The Hill, and Business Insider, among others.

Gardner, a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, has been involved in professional communications for nearly three decades in a career that spans journalism, politics, and state government. He previously worked as an award-winning business journalist in the Midwest, as communications director for the Missouri Department of Economic Development, the Missouri House of Representatives and Missouri Democratic Party, and as press secretary for Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon. Gardner currently resides in New Jersey, where he served as communications manager for the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance and as deputy press secretary and speechwriter for New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine.

Elsa Rainey

Elsa Rainey is a strategic communications professional who has worked for dozens of local, regional, and national campaigns/initiatives across the country. Her varied background includes creating and implementing strategic communications plans for major brands, health and education nonprofits, foundations and governmental entities. She's aligned stakeholders and constituents to engage in initiatives through social media, earned media, ad campaigns, grassroots advocacy and digital platforms. Elsa is passionate about developing authentic campaigns that build trust, prod and help purpose-driven organizations thrive.

Laura Swinford

Senior Strategist
Laura joined GPS Influence in late 2019 after serving as director of communications for former Kansas City Mayor Sly James. Prior to joining Mayor James’ team at city hall, she was communications director for We Are Missouri, the successful ballot campaign to repeal so-called “Right to Work.” Laura served as director of communications for Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander before leading Progress Missouri, a communications and research non profit. She’s a veteran of multiple state and local campaigns, and is based in St. Louis.
