Laura Swinford

Senior Strategist

Laura has 15 years of experience working for organizations, coalitions, campaigns and elected leaders dedicated to reproductive justice, increasing access to health care, workers’ rights, criminal justice reform, racial equity and voting rights. She has extensive experience working with coalition partners to plan and execute events including press conferences, vigils, protests and rallies, statewide campaign tours, speaking engagements, and panel discussions. Before joining GPS Influence, where she currently advises ACLU affiliates and the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU Law, Laura worked on statewide and local campaigns in Missouri, and served as communications director for former Kansas City Mayor Sly James and Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander.
